This freak hailstorm killed:
90% of pheasants
80% of hares
100s of deer
in Salzburg province, Austria. The hailstones were the size of tennis balls.
Revelation 16:21 tell us that 100 pound hailstones are going to rain down from heaven in the end days just before the second coming of Christ. I can't really imagine the damage that hailstones of that size can do if tennis ball-sized hail can cause the the devastation reported in Salzburg.

I've seen the damage that marble size hail can do. I had to have dents in my car removed at the body shop after a storm like this
Hundred lb. hailstones would knock down buildings and crush cars and equipment. I don't know where heaven is but depending on how high up we're talking about this would flatten almost everything on earth.
Years ago my dad drove to Ohio where he got caught in a bad hail storm that dented the the family car. I think he said it was about marble size.
I was thinking about those huge hail stones and the damage they could do. Mark, I think you might be right about the damage they would do depending on the velocity. Think of the human, animal, and plant life that would be lost.
The ultimate mud slide only when it melted we would have clean oceans again...
I don't knwo whether big hailstones would help the oceans. Depending on how many hailstones land in the oceans and seas, they could dilute the salinity and kill off sea creatures.
